Description:SmCo Magnets The sintered SmCo magnets are our strongest products, also the alnico magnets and magnetic assemblies. Because of its raw materials are scarce, expensive and its development is restricted. Samarium cobalt (SmCo) as the second-generation rare earth permanent magnet, not only has a high energy product (14-30MGOe) and reliable coercive force, but also in the rare earth permanent magnet series showed good temperature characteristics. Compared with NdFeB, samarium cobalt is more suitable for working in hot environments. Its advantage is the maximum operating temperature 350 ℃ and good corrosion and oxidation assistance. It needn’t be coated because it is different to be eroded or oxidized. SmCo magnets are widely used in motors, instruments, sensors, positional detectors, generators, radars, etc. SmCo5 and Sm2Co17 Samarium cobalt (SmCo) are divided into different components based on SmCo5 andSm2Co17, were sleeping mat and sleeping mat second generation rare earth permanent magnet materials. SmCo5 series of has a maximum operating temperature of 250°C, while Sm2Co17 of 350°C. Special grades of Sm2Co17 are available to even higher temperatures.Sm2Co17 offers 24 MGOe to 32 MGOe and is composed of about 25% samarium, 5% copper, 18% iron, 2% hafnium or zirconium, with the remainder being cobalt. Since Sm2Co17 requires extremely high magnetizing fields,multiple poles magnetization is not possible.
