Hard Enamel - Description:
There is no substitute for the classic look of Hard-Fired Enamel, an ancient Chinese process developed over 6,000 years ago. Each design is stamped into brass and the recessed areas are filled with enamel which is then fired at a very high temperature. This produces a jewelry quality pin with a high level of detail and color. Each pin is highly polished to a brilliant luster and smoothness.
Synthetic Enamel - Description:
Synthetic enamel was invented in mid of 80’s.Synthetic enamel is a modern substitute for hard enamel. The process is similar to hard enamel except that special enamel is utilized to provide enamel colors instead of the cloisonné.
Today, most of lapel pin are made by imitation enamel. because of similarity to hard-fired enamel look,but shinier, lower cost, faster delivery time and a wider variety of color choices. It becomes the trend of making lapel pins.
Soft Enamel - Description:
Soft enamel is another substitute for the real and synthetic enamel. It probably the most commonly used.It differs in the color technique. The colors are not completely filled in the recessed areas and the metal orders are much more visible.It fired at low heat to seal the colors and provide a lustrous appearance.
