Description of Silastic RTV-2 Silicone Rubber 

 

RTV-2 Silicone Rubber is a kind of two-component material, and the RTV-2 silicone rubber includes Part A base silicone and Part B CA30 curing agent. The Part A base silicone and Part B curing agent can cure at room temperature by a condensation reaction. These  materials can be cast into the cured silicone mold: plaster, polyurethane, PU, GRC, cement, resin, polyester, wax etc...

Applications of Silastic RTV-2 Silicone Rubber 

     

RTV-2 silicone rubber can be applied in many objects mold making, since the RTV-2 silicone has good flow ability and medium hardness, and the silicone can cure at room temperature, thus it's a good material for duplication.

  

RTV-2 Silicone rubber can be used for artificial stone mold making. For example, RTV2030, RTV2066 and RTV2088 silicone.

  

RTV-2 Silicone rubber can be applied in candle and soap mold making, such as RTV215 and RTV218 silicone.

 

RTV-2 Silicone rubber can be used for plaster mold making, such as RTV2025, RTV2028 and RTV2030 silicone.

  

RTV-2 Silicone rubber can be applied in the field of shoe sole mold making, for example, RTV3010 and RTV3015 silicone.

 

RTV-2 Silicone rubber can be used for prototyping and electronic potting.

 

RTV-2 Silicone Rubber can be used in the reproduction of cement molding, concrete stones, artificial stones, plaster molding, figures, art objects, decoration molding, GRC products, gypsum products, resin products, PU molds. Etc.

 

  

 

Storage of Silastic RTV-2 Silicone Rubber 

 

When the silicone rubber is stored at or below 30 C (85 F) in the original unopened containers, RTV2 Silicone Base and CA30 Curing agent have a usable life of 12 months from the date of production. After 12 months, please use a stirring mill to stir the Part A silicone for some minutes, then the silicone can be use again, without any influence to the characteristics.

Part A base silicone: 20kg/drum, 25kg/drum or 200kg/drum

Part B CA30 Curing Agent: 0.25kg/bottle,1kg/bottle and 10kg/bottle

Why does the RTV liquid silicone rubber for molding have few mold making times?

 

The silicone rubber mold has few molding times is due to follwoing reasons: adding too much silicone oil which will destroy the molecular of silicone rubber; making the mold for small and fine detailed products with higher hardness silicone rubber which is easy to break; making the mold for large products with soft silicone rubber which will reduce the tensile and tear strength of the mold, and the mold will have deformation. Thus, we should take the proper silicone rubber to make the mold for suitable products.
