What is  type "A" and "B"?

 

The "A and "B" refers to the polarity.The magnetic tape is magnetised along it's length in alternating stripes of North and South poles. Polarity A is magnetised with a pattern of N-S-N-S-N and Polarity B is magnetised with a pattern of S-N-S-N-S. (N=North S= South)

 

 

“If you are using two pieces of tape and they need to attract each other and line up exactly (for example to hold photographs onto a non steel wall), then you do need polarity A on one side and polarity B on the opposite side.”

 

 

“If you are using the tape to stick to a steel surface then the polarity is irrelevant as they both work equally well.”

 

 

So,If you want to stick two strips together then you will have to buy both  polarity A and  polarity B or they will be joined offset from each other, beware when buying from other websites who only sell one side as they will not be attracted strongly together.
