What is coal?
Coal is afossil fuel. It is a combustible, sedimentary, organic rock, which iscomposed mainly of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. It is formed fromvegetation, which has been consolidated between other rock strata andaltered by the combined effects of pressure and heat over millions ofyears to form coal seams.

What is the characteristic of Indonesian'scoal?
Indonesian coal in production generally have mediumcalorific values (5 000-7 000 kcal/kg or 21-29 MJ/kg), withrelatively high percentages of volatile matter; they benefit from lowash and sulphur contents, making them some of the cleanest coalsin the world.
