Product detail:
ANTICA Organic Fungicide and Bactericide is a natural, organic product derived and extracted from tropical fruits. It is predominantly composed of Lactic Acid with some glycolic and acetic acids in much lesser concentrations.
Bio Assay tests conducted by the University of San Carlos, Chemical Engineering Department, Professor Evelyn Taboada and Engr. May Tampus, to investigate the anti-microbial activity of the product ANTICA* against the disease-causing micro-organisms in agricultural fruits and crops sych as Collectotrichum gloeosporiodes (causing anthracnose). Test results indicate that its zone of inhibition reaches an average of 24.19 mm during the five-day incubation period, and is well-sustained during an extended period of ten incubation days. This indicates that the Antica* can inhibit the growth of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, which causes anthracnose in agricultural fruits and crops. A concentrated sample of ANTICA* shows total inhibition against Colletotrichum gloeosporioides as no growth of the microorganism.
Furthermore, bioassay results with Streptomycin, a known antibiotic and pesticide against various fungi and bacteria, showed negative inhibitory activity against C. gloeosporioides, which suggests that it is inferior to ANTICA* in inhibiting the growth of the pathogen.
FPA application completed and approval is expected soon.

Non Toxic and Safe in the Environment
ANTICA has been tested for its toxicity, Lethal Dose(LD50) by the Department of Science and Techonology under Industrial Technology Development Institute, Bicuta, Taguig, Metro Manila. The LD50 test resuls that ANTICA is non toxic even at high dose of 160 ml/kg, and did not cause death to the test animal.
Based on safety data reports, the lactic acid based products are completely safe for beneficial living organisms or non-target organisms including humans, animals, plants and other micro-organisms and the environment in general.
A study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of ANTICA for the control of post harvest disease especially the anthracnose disease causing mircroorganism Colletotrichum gloeosporiodes, in mangoes. This was undertaken at the laboratory of the Regional Crop Protection Center (RCPC) Department of Agriculture, Mandaue City.
Newly harvested mango fruits were utilized. The fruits were dipped for 10 minutes in each treatment.

Recommended Application & Dosage for Post Harvest Diseases in Mangoes
Recommended dilution rate is from 500ml of ANTICA per 16 liters of water for the control of the fungal pathogen in post harvest diseases in mangoes.
Method of application
Dipping the fruits for about 10 minutes in the suspension of 500 ml ANTICA in 16 liters of water. This may be repeated before fruits are shipped to clients.
May also be used during flowering stage to suppress anthracnose disease.
