Silicon Nitride Thermocouple Protection Tube/Sheath---Protect Temperature-measuring Components

Thermocouple protection sheaths are extensively for continuous temperature measurement in non-ferrous metals. In molten aluminium, silicon nitride is non-wetting, does not contaminate the melt, provides continuous, reliable temperatre measurement, and is resistant to degradation even in aggressive aluminium lithium alloys.

Handling Precautions:

Avoid severe mechanical impact.

Avoid rapid cooling over a wide temperature range

Assemble and install only in moisture free conditions.

Preheating in the air prior to submersion in the molten metal by the temperature of 300 and 500 centi-degree for 1 hour.

Periodic Maintenance Remove slag deposits before solidification from stalk tube surface weekly.

Improper installation of seals may cause failure due to mechanical 

stress.
