♦ Black silicon carbide is produced in an electric resistance furnace from quartz sand ,petroleum coke and anthracite at high temperature.

2. Applications:

♦ Low tensile strength material. eg. glass, china.

♦ Ceramics,  resin, rubber grinding wheel, refractory material.

♦ Sandblasting, dry grinding, free grinding as well as cutting and making jewelry, jade, agate.

♦ Grinding of gray cast iron, white cast iron, bronze, brass, ore, bone, glass, leather, rubber, plastic and the thermal sensitive material.
