I. Description/ Engineering Plastics PVC sheet
PVC is the most widely used member of the vinyl family. Common applications include chemical processing tanks, valves, fittings & piping systems. PVC Sheets, Rods & Tubes offer excellent corrosion and weather resistance. It has a high strength-to-weight ratio and is a good electrical and thermal insulator. PVC is also self-extinguishing per UL flammability tests. PVC may be used to temperatures of 140°F (60°C). Available in sheets, rods, and tubing. For Higher Temperature Performance, consider CPVC.
II. PVC Characteristics:
Advantages:
1.High mechanical strength, high hardness
2.Good electrical insulation
3.Excellent chemical and corrosion resistance
4.Showcase quality surface
5.Easily to fabricate, weld or machine
6.Accurate to dimensional tolerances
7.Color consistent
8.Good printing and welding
9. Flexibility adjustable
Disadvantages:
10.Poor thermal stability
11.Poor processing properties
12.Poor impact resistance,
13.Poor aging resistance and cold resistance
III. PVC Applications
1. - Linings of process vessels and chemical apparatus.
2. - Advertising,sales promotion signs and displays.
3. - Construction industry.
4. - Electrical industry.
5. - Laboratories.
