There are many uses for the coconut tree (Coco Nucifera). Apart from simply eating the fresh flesh of the coconut fruit and drinking the vitamin-filled coconut milk, a coconut tree can be a natural source for several useful items such as shelter, survival tools and water resilient materials. The coconut tree grows in tropical climates and can be seen along the coastlines of Africa, Asia, Hawaii, Latin America and the Pacific region. With it's tall slender trunk and long feather shaped leaves, the coconut tree does not grow branches.
