Function | Biochemistry Inhibits cell division by blocking protein synthesis. Maize tolerance of chloroacetamides is due mainly to conjugation with glutathione; P450 metabolism may also be a factor. Mode of action Selective herbicide, absorbed mainly by the shoots and secondarily by the roots of germinating plants. Uses Used pre-emergence or pre-plant to control annual grasses, certain annual broad-leaved weeds and yellow nutsedge in maize (at 3 kg/ha), peanuts, soya beans, cotton, potatoes and sugar cane. |
Notices:
1. Low doses for sandy soils , high doses for clayey soil .
2. For the soil with organic matter content 4% of in Northeast , the dosage should be increased by about 30%.
3. Use high doses when soil moisture is low and use low dose when soil moisture is high.
4. This product is only useful for pre-emergence weed germination and can only be used for soil treatment agent.
5. Wheat, rice, millet, sorghum, cucumber, watermelon, melon, spinach, leeks are sensitive to acetochlor and acetochlor should be used with caution.
