Self-flow Castable for permanent lining of ladle
Alumina-spinel castables(LQLC-90 and LQLC-85) mainly consist of fused white corundum, sintered tabular corundum and pure synthesized spinel. The castables are highly resistant to slag corrosion and penetration when used as linings in continuous casting ladles.High alumina-spinel (LQLC-80 and LQLC-90) are composed of sintered special grate bauxide and synthesied spinel from natural raw materials. The castables have strong resistance to corrosion, erosion and thermal shock. The service life of high alumina-magnesia castable LQLC -90 can be used for ladles within capacity of over 100tons, LQLC-80 for ladles with capactity between 50t to 90t and LQLC -75 for ladles below 50t.

Refractory materials for ladle working line
For common non-refining ladles below 50 tons, the working line is usually formed by castables monolithic molding. The general used castables in small and medium size ladle is no cement alumina spinel castable, which is made of top grade bauxite Al2O3>85% aggregate and powder as main raw materials, adding magnesia powder, bauxite based spinel powder, silicon oxide ultrafine powder, as well as the dispersant additive, etc. In common circumstances, this type castable can make life time of ladle reach 50-60 times, 70-80 times at maximum.
For refining ladle of large size converter, UHP EAF, slag line adopts Mg-C bricks, ladle bottom and ladle wall adopt Al-Mg-C bricks or monolithic castables.
Refining ladle slag line is often subjected to high temperature load(Max 1700 C above), the erosion from molten steel and slag, vacuum volatilization under high temp., mechanical erosion from molten steel, these will all increase the damage on slag line.
In view of above, the refining ladle slag line generally select MgO-C brick or MgO-CaO-C brick masonry, average life time of refining ladle is around 60-80 times, slag line life time around 30-40 times, one time of replacement of slag line is required.
