Once people call the Manding, Bantul, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, which comes to mind is the center of leather, which had triumphed in the decade 1970 until 1980s.
Right now is still a center of leather, but it was developed by the craftsmen with the addition of other raw materials. That is fair, because the market demand so, said village chief Sabdodadi, Binarjono.
Sarjimin, craftsmen as well as the Chairman of the Employers Group Sabdodadi added a lot of raw materials combined with leather is a natural fiber such as pandanus, rushes, water hyacinth, agel and sticks. In the Manding there are about 25 artisans who still pursue leather and there is expanding with natural fiber materials.
